JP Morgan, Research Consultant
Accomplishments: Hired for project based on my mortgage/lending/underwriting expertise involving the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to review the practices and procedures of JP Morgan Chase with regard to unscrupulous activity related to residential mortgage origination, servicing and foreclosure processing for multiple issue transactions for 2009 & 2010.

- Made recommendation for JP Morgan to settle lawsuit with Federal Government to mitigate losses incurred from expenses related to this project and harbor goodwill for future regulatory issues involving government entities. Action saved firm billions of dollars in fines, capped penalties, and prevented further investigative proceedings that would have lead to additional liabilities. This laid the groundwork and foundation for all other big-bank settlements.

- Devised innovative way for department to search for loans, complaints, client files, and employee responsible for each file, utilizing excel eliminating the need for bank to employ and dedicate time, resources, and capital to developing macros or more complex programming to address the same issue resulting in increased efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

- Project was coordinated with accounting firm Deloitte and involved review of policy and procedures used in JP Morgan mortgage business including documentation and compliance, accounting and auditing for mortgage and consumer lending issues, review of IT systems used in making, servicing, and collecting on mortgages to determine accuracy and adhesion to rules and regulations.
- Project stressed the importance of working between different business groups, and even different firms with different functional roles on the project, to understand, assess, conclude, and unify results and present findings.
- Recruited for experience and expertise involving mortgages, lending, and consumer and commercial formal bank training in originations, underwriting, & credit analysis and background in accounting and IT.
- Responsible for research, analysis, and review of complaints involving unfair foreclosure practices.
- Work involves review of JP Morgan Chase systems and databases to research and resolve issues in accordance with OCC Article 7.
- Knowledge and use of: InfoSource, I-Vault, Fastrieve, LenderLive, MSP, CCW, LPS, MS AX and other industry standard systems.
